Demi Lovato's newly-released album 'Here We Go Again' tops Billboard Hot 200, while Jordin Sparks' 'Battlefield', which is also a newcomer on the chart, can only land at number 7.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato's sophomore studio album "Here We Go Again" debuts at number 1 on Billboard Hot 200. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the record has sold more than 108,000 copies.

This is the first time Demi has her studio album sitting atop the U.S. albums chart. In 2008, she only managed to climb to the second spot on the chart with her debut effort "Don't Forget" which pulled in 89,000 units.

"It's great! I'm having a blast. I mean. never could I ever think I'd be this lucky," Demi commented to MTV about her achievement. "I'm excited. I was just completely ecstatic over it. I didn't know what to do! Last time I debuted at #2 [with 'Don't Forget'] and so I thought if I could get close to that, that'd be awesome, so I was so excited."

Back on the chart, DAUGHTRY's latest studio installment "Leave This Town" slips from number 1 to number 2 with additional 101,000 selling point after garnering 269,000 copies last week. Following at number three is last week's runner-up Maxwell's "BLACKsummers'night" with only 72,000 copies sold.

Another newcomer on the chart this week is Jordin Sparks' second studio project "Battlefield". Unlike Demi's effort which experiences impressive chart performance, Jordin's record can only fight its way to number 7 with 48,000 units in its first week on sales.

Elsewhere, Michael Jackson's 2003 set "Number Ones" is the champion of Billboard Top Comprehensive Albums chart for one more time. This week, the album sold 154,000 copies.
