'Bachelorette' Recap: After the Final Rose
TV

Chris Harrison welcomed Kiptyn, Reid and the happy couple Jillian and Ed back to give update on their well being.

AceShowbiz - It has been two months since the happy-ending season finale of "The Bachelorette" season 5. Producers are doing a follow up of what happen between Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski after they got engaged, bringing back also the fallen ones, Kiptyn Locke and Reid Rosenthal.

First of all, host Chris Harrison would like to know what happen to Melissa Rycroft who was part of "The Bachelor" most dramatic finale ever. She was invited back to the show and her journey tape was played. Melissa said that her misery when Jason Mesnick dumped her on national television felt like "forever ago".

She then updated viewers on her life, proudly saying that she is happily engaged to Tye and admitting that Jason made the right choice. In fact, Melissa was cast on "Dancing with the Stars" last season and has been hired as a correspondent to "Good Morning America".

Next, Harrison welcomed Kiptyn who was the finalist on the show before Jillian told him that she was in love with the other guy. The 31-year-old said he is holding up well and hopes nothing but the best for Jillian. He was reunited with Jillian shortly after and they greeted each other well. Kiptyn answered "yes and no" when asked whether he would change anything differently. Jill praised him as a remarkable man and wished him happiness.

To answer some fans' curiosity, Reid was brought in to the After Rose special to give his side of story. Reid's proposal was rejected by Jillian on the finale after he made the effort of coming back. He said he is still holding up and living a regret that he didn't tell her he loved her earlier. On what prompted him to return, Reid said he realized he had been indecisive on relationships thus wanted to make it up by going firm on this one. He admitted to making more than 10 phone calls to producers to be allowed back on the show.

Jillian came out to greet him. They hugged and Jill said she was nervous to see him. She started crying because she admitted it was hard to let him go at that time. She asked him whether he regretted coming back and he said no. Jillian similarly told Harrison that she is with the right person and wouldn't have it any other way. A fan asked him whether he has dated again ever since and he said no.

The pinnacle of the special was the appearance of Jillian and Ed together. She showed up first, confirming that she is still engaged to Ed. The man then came out and said he made the right decision to come back. Ed left in the fifth week after an ultimatum from his boss, only to return two weeks later. The couple said they are in a good place and they kissed.

On what's next after the engagement, they said a wedding will occur within the next 12 months. They in fact will move in together to Ed's Chicago home in September.

Traditionally, the next candidate of "The Bachelor" will be announced in this special episode, but apparently the producers have not made any decision yet since no name was thrown out.
