Movie

Two of the film stars, Amy Adams and Meryl Streep, come to the special screening held Monday, July 27, and so do 'Twilight' actress Ashley Greene and 'Chuck' beauty Yvonne Strahovski among others.

AceShowbiz - Red carpet has been rolled down for the Los Angeles premiere of "Julie & Julia". On Monday, July 27, the upcoming dramedy from Columbia Pictures held its special screening at Mann Village Theatre in Westwood, California, giving a chance to its stars and filmmakers to present the movie before it opens wide in August.

Coming to the momentous event representing the cast ensemble were two of its leading ladies, Amy Adams who stars as Julie Powell and Meryl Streep who portrays Julia Child. They were joined by several other cast members, including Chris Messina, Jane Lynch and Mary Lynn Rajskub.

On behalf of those people behind the movie, director and writer Nora Ephron, producer Laurence Mark and Sony Pictures Entertainment's co-chairman Amy Pascal were present. Also seen making a red carpet premiere was author Julie Powell, whose memoir entitled "Julie & Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously" is among the two books adapted into the movie by Ephron.

Beside stars and filmmakers, a handful of other celebrity guests attended the premiere as well. "Twilight" actress Ashley Greene, "The Office" actress Kate Flannery, "Chuck" star Yvonne Strahovski, "Camp Rock" actress Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, "Fame" female lead Naturi Naughton and model/actress Molly Sims were among those spotted arriving for the special screening.

Combining stories from both Julie Powell's book "Julie & Julia" and Julia Child's book "My Life in France", "Julie & Julia" depicts events in the life of famed chef Julia as well as temp secretary Julie. While it covers the years Julia and her husband Paul spent in Paris during the 1940s and 1950s, it also chronicles Julie's trials and tribulations when she embarks on a year-long culinary quest to cook all 524 recipes in Julia's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking".

Marked as the first major motion picture based on a blog, this comedy drama film will be screened in theaters across the U.S. starting next Friday, August 7.
