AceShowbiz - "Chuck" panel at San Diego Comic Con had a good way to warm up the air on Saturday, July 25. The presentation was opened with season 2 highlights and a footage of lead actor Zachary Levi talking to creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak on how if the show got canceled. The video reel then was cut when Scott Krinsky and Vik Sahay got on the stage to perform as Jeffster!.
The fictional duo sang Queen's "Fat-Bottomed Girls" to more than 4,000 shrieking audience. In the middle of the song, cast of the show including Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez and Adam Baldwin came out in support. "Fat Bottomed Girls seems like a song that certainly Jeff would gravitate to," said co-creator Josh Schwartz.
The first thing that the panel discussed was naturally the 'Save Chuck' campaign that was launched by fans earlier this year. "You guys are incredible, I love you so much, thank you so much," Levi expressed his gratitude. Crediting also the effort from Subway as the sponsor, Schwartz said the storyline involving the sandwich franchise is "TBD".
Then came the question about Chuck's newly-found skill in martial arts. Levi, who admitted to have prepared physically for that, stated that Chuck won't be all kung fu. He said "You can't just know kung fu all the time, otherwise his handlers are obsolete, and you can't have that, otherwise you'd have no Adam or Yvonne and you can't have that, or you'd have no 'Chuck'." In addition, as a downside of Chuck's new power, he can't walk for half-hour after using one.
Many more were discussed, including when Captain Awesome will find out Chuck's secret. "Awesome will start to be submerged into the spy world as well," said Ryan McPartlin.
But the burning question was whether Chuck and Sarah were making any progress on the third season. "Something very emotional and traumatic is going to have happened between Chuck and Sarah," Schwartz said, responded by a boo from the crowd. Fedak quickly added, "It'll be cool. It'll be deep and it'll have a lasting affect on the show."
The show is scheduled to return after 2010 Olympics but production will kick off in August. Schwartz had a good news about this, saying "It could be sooner than was announced."
