A roughly five minutes of impressive 'Iron Man 2' footage has been shown on Saturday, July 25, at this year's San Diego Comic Con, and its detailed description is shared.

AceShowbiz - Saturday, July 25, Marvel Studios has given the San Diego Comic Con 2009's visitors a special presentation of their upcoming "Iron Man 2" with a roughly five minutes of the film's footage. Io9 has provided a description of the footage shown, revealing that before the real footage was brought forth, director Jon Favreau gave out a 90-second promo which led to star Robert Downey Jr. mocking him for the weak footage.

The first sneak peek at the upcoming "Iron Man" sequel contains two major scenes. The first one sees Tony Stark in his Iron Man suit sitting in the hole of a giant promotional donut for Randy's Donuts and eating a donut. Looking as if he is hungover, he then meets up Nick Fury inside the donut shop. He explains how difficult it was to do all this world-saving on his own, but refused to join Fury's "super-powered boy band".

The second scene takes Stark to a congressional hearing where he testifies before a Senate committee about his possession of his Iron Man suit. Pictured to be flamboyant with him talking flirtatiously to Pepper Potts who sits behind him, the billionaire demanded the Senate thank him, not prosecute him, for maintaining "world peace," which gets a four-letter word response from the Senate committee chairman. The particular scene also gives out James Rhodes.

In addition to the two major scenes, a series of clips was also included. The snippets are highlighted by villainous Whiplash's voiceover saying, "You come from a family of thieves and butchers. You try to rebuild your history...They are the blood in the water and the sharks will come." They also expose the first glimpse of the War Machine armor, Whiplash letting loose his weaponry and Rhodes talking with Justin Hammer.

Aside from director Jon Favreau, the "Iron Man 2" panel held on Hall H was attended by Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle and Sam Rockwell. On the Q&A session, Cheadle addressed the issue of him replacing actor Terrence Howard. Asked whether his performance was informed by Howard's, he stated that he stuck to what the script dictated, and added, "but I will say, being the vampire that I am, I siphoned off everything I could from Terrence's performance and then modernized it for 2009."

As for Johansson, the actress opened up about her preparation for the audition to play Black Widow. "I did a couple of knee bends, some lunges - that came out wrong," she said. Downey quickly chimed in and defended his co-star saying, "Did you bump your f--king head, dude? Her audition was her body of work."

"Iron Man 2" stars once again Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow who reprise their roles as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Pepper Potts. They are joined by Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson and several others among the star-studded cast. This superhero film which script is written by "Tropic Thunder" co-scribbler Justin Theroux is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 7, 2010.
