Fresh Action-Packed Clips From 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'
Movie

Along with the release of the Paris chase sequence snippets, an update report gives out that the live-action movie will get a sequel and director Stephen Sommers eyes summer 2010 for it.

AceShowbiz - In anticipation of "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" theatrical release, two brand new clips from the live-action movie have been released through Yahoo! Movies as well as StephenSommers.com. Packed with action sequences, both snippets feature the G.I. Joe team in hot pursuit of a MARS Scarab carrying Sienna Miller's The Baroness and Lee Byung-Hun's Storm Shadow.

In both clips, Channing Tatum's Duke and Marlon Wayans' Ripcord are displaying what their Delta-6 Accelerator Suits are capable of doing while chasing the SUV in the streets of Paris. One of the clips presents glimpses of some impressive moves by Ray Park's Snake Eyes as well as what the MARS Scarab has hidden under its hood.

On another "G.I. Joe" news, CineFools reported that a sequel of "G.I. Joe" is indeed happening. During an Australian Press Conference for the film, the cast which include Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols admitted that they are locked for a follow-up movie. Giving out more hint on the possibility of a sequel, director Stephen Sommers shouted, "Next Summer!"

As for his firing rumor, Sommers explained, "I have final cut, it was actually a surprise because I was in the editing room and I got a phone call from a friend checking if I had been fired and replaced, so I just kept editing." He added, "That's what's crazy about the Internet because I have final cut and they couldn't throw me off if they wanted and clearly when you see the movie you'll realize how silly that was."

"Someone said 'It was the worst testing movie in Paramount's history' that's crap! When you see the movie you'll know it's false. It is discouraging though. If you took two seconds to look into it not only do I have final cut but as a director if I didn't have final cut, you'd have to really screw up a movie to get fired because once a director gets fired from a project the stigma attached to that movie...you're just dead."

"G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" is based on the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy franchise. Directed by the "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" producer, it stars Dennis Quaid as General Hawk, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander and Christopher Eccleston as Destro among others. The action adventure has been set to arrive in U.S. theaters on August 7.
