AceShowbiz - "The Passion of the Christ" leading actor James Caviezel was injured in a motorcycle accident near Leavenworth, Washington, on Thursday afternoon, July 16. The 40-year-old star was rushed to a hospital to be treated for cuts and bruises.

James was driving his 2006 Harley-Davidson along a highway, when a 42-year-old man identified as David Nelson, who was walking on the same road, suddenly threw a bicycle into his path. Unable to avoid the bicycle, James then tumbled to the ground which led him to suffer a cut on his hand and a bruise on his leg. Fortunately, he was wearing helmet when the accident happened, preventing him from having much worse injuries.

The bicycle itself ended being jammed between the front wheel and the engine of James' motorcycle, Richard Magnussen, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol, explained. As for James, he was then taken to the Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth to be treated for his injuries. He reportedly has been discharged from the hospital.

Detailing on the incident, Richard said David was acting erratic, gesturing and pointing at the sky before he threw the bicycle into James' path. Investigation is still undergoing and David, who is thought to be suffering from mental issues, might be charged with reckless endangerment.
