Alexis Bledel claims 'Sin City 2' is going to be prequel, reasoning that her character is included in the new story while she supposedly died in the first film.

AceShowbiz - "Sin City" actress Alexis Bledel has acknowledged the script for "Sin City 2" is completed and claimed that the movie is going to be a prequel. Talking to MTV News, the 27-year-old believes that the second movie could be a prequel after she found out that her character will make a return in the sequel.

"I don't know what their source was, but they said they read the second script," Bledel first addressed on the saying that the script for the sequel has been finished. The actress who plays a young prostitute named Becky then added, "Apparently, [I'm] back because it's a prequel. Because [I'm] supposed to die in the first one. But you don't see it, so maybe she doesn't."

The prequel scenes may likely come from Frank Miller's "A Dame to Kill For", which has been long rumored to be adapted into big screen. The novel itself tells an earlier story of Dwight McCarthy who is portrayed by Clive Owen. Director Robert Rodriguez previously stated that the sequel would blend old "Sin City" element with new story lines by Miller.

Rodriguez and Miller will team up in "Sin City 2" to direct the movie. Some of the original cast who will reprise their roles in the second film include Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke and Michael Clarke Duncan. However, there is yet official statement on when production will start. The release date is also still to be determined, but it is believed to take place in 2010.
