Setting and Technology for '300' Sequel Discussed

'It's going to be the same way, but on crazier steroids,' director Zack Snyder gives some new information about the potential sequel to his '300' movie.

AceShowbiz - Nothing has been set in stone just yet for "300" sequel, but director Zack Snyder has indicated that he will use the same setting and technology to bring it to the big screen. "I think we would use the same technology... I don't want it to look too Star Wars-ian... Just from what [Miller] told me, it would be bigger as far as landscape and terrain," the 43-year-old told Coming Soon.

"We're going to see Athens and the Aegean and other places," Snyder further shared before adding that the sequel is likely to be made in a grander scale. "There would be an opportunity for bigger visions, though I'd hope for the same aesthetic. The tech we used for '300' was not a revolution. It's basically what the weatherman has. Look, instead of Accuweather it's Sparta... It's going to be the same way, but on crazier steroids."

As for how far the project from materialization, the helmer behind "Dawn of the Dead" and "Watchmen" stated that author Frank Miller is moving along with its storyline. Giving out that the plan for now is for Miller to create the story as a comic book first, he said, "I know for a fact that Frank [Miller] is writing right now. [He's] drawing away and seems to be knee-deep in it. I think he's going to head back to Greece again and do another reconnaissance."

"300" itself is a 2007 epic battle film that chronicles the story of King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans who fight to their death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army in ancient battle of Thermopylae. Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, it stars Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, David Wenham and Dominic West among others.
