Michael Welch Is Concerned Over Robert Pattinson's Dangerous Fame

Expressing his concern over Robert Pattinson's life now that his fame often gets him into troubles, Michael Welch says he's glad the British actor is okay after he was hit by a taxi recently.

, the actor who portrays the role of Mike Newton in "," has expressed his concern over the life of co-star when he was told by MTV that the British actor was hit by a taxi recently while escaping a throng of hysterical female fans. "I don't see how this is sustainable - is this gonna keep going for the rest of his life?" Michael said. "I understand it, it's Edward Cullen, I get it. But he's still Rob Pattinson first - he's still his own guy. Is it time to start getting concerned here?"

Michael continued saying, "He's an actor who likes to prepare out in public - he likes to read a script at a coffee shop where there's people walking by and there's noise; he prepares that way. And he can't really do that anymore." He then added, "It's tough, man ... I don't know where his life is really headed."

And though he admitted that he would not trade place with Robert, Michael still wished him the best. "I'm glad he's OK. And as long as people don't start ripping at him and breaking him in two, I think we'll be OK ... I wish him the best, and hope he's going to be all right," Michael stated.

Robert Pattinson was hit by a cab while he was escaping a throng of hysterical female fans on the set of "" in Manhattan, New York City on Thursday, June 18. It was reported that the heartthrob was making his way out of the Strand Bookstore on Broadway and 12th Street, where he's been filming a scene for the film, when a group of fans began to hound him. 5 security guards tried to rush him to his trailer, but failed. Soon thereafter, a representative for Summit Entertainment, the studio producing the drama romance film, confirmed the actor was okay.
