Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the men behind 'Transformers' and its sequel 'Revenge of the Fallen', open up about possibility of 'Transformers 3'.

AceShowbiz - Long before "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" opens wide in theaters across the U.S., talks of "Transformers 3" have flown around. With the "Transformers" sequel finally hitting the big screen, its screenwriter duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci address on their involvement in a possible third film of the action adventure series.

When asked by Mania about their interest in making "Transformers 3", Kurtzman representing himself and Orci stated that they will have to see how people take in the sequel first before making any decision. "I think we just need to take a breath now," he said. "We want to see how people react to Revenge of the Fallen. We don't ever want it to feel stale. That's when it's not worth doing. Plus, we're already prepping for the next Star Trek."

To io9, they also slammed down words suggesting that they will not provide script for the next "Transformers" movie. "We never say never, but since the movie's not even out, it's impossible for us to go, 'Yes, we're in,'" Kurtzman explained during an interview for "Revenge of the Fallen".

"Transformers 3" is reportedly aimed for Independence Day holiday in 2011. Earlier, reports came out that director Michael Bay is likely to drop his involvement in the third film. However, he was quick to deny by posting a message at his Shoot for the Edit forums, "Hah, love press how they spin. Never said it - just wanted a vacation is more to the point. And no I don't read the good or the bad reviews."

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" hits U.S. big screen this Wednesday, June 24.
