'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' Hits Los Angeles for U.S. Premiere

2009 Los Angeles Film Festival has become the host for the U.S. premiere of Michael Bay-directed 'Transformers' sequel on Monday, June 22.

AceShowbiz - Having been premiered around the globe as part of its promotional efforts, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" has finally been brought home for a U.S. premiere. The special screening event was hosted by 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival and held on Monday, June 22, two days before the movie hits theaters across the country.

Red carpet was rolled out in front of Mann's Village Theater and saw the unique set up displaying Autobot leader Optimus Prime in its tractor trailer truck form at the start. Beside Optimus, another Autobot member, Bumblebee, was also present at the event. In contrast with Optimus, Bumblebee was seen in its robot mode.

Cast members, Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Isabel Lucas, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Julie White, Kevin Dunn, Anthony Anderson and Matthew Marsden, were all spotted coming to the event. Joining them were director Michael Bay, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, as well as Paramount Pictures toppers Brad Grey and Sumner Redstone.

Aside from cast and crew, the premiere was also attended by other Hollywood stars. Actors Emile Hirsch and Brenda Song, TV personalities Kim Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari and Kendra Wilkinson as well as musicians Linkin Park, Ciara, Aubrey O'Day and Travis Barker were among the many coming to the premiere.

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is set a year after the end of the 2007 blockbuster "Transformers". It follows Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes as they become the target of attack by Decepticons due to Sam's knowledge over the origins of the Transformers and their ancient history on Earth. Battling the Decepticons' effort to capture Sam, Autobots unite with U.S. military and an international coalition to fight back the villains' attack. This movie will open in U.S. theaters this coming Friday, June 24.
