will.i.am and gossip blogger Perez Hilton have been involved in an altercation in Toronto, Canada which then leads to an escalating war of words on Twitter between the two.

AceShowbiz - Black Eyed Peas' member will.i.am and the band's manager Polo Molina were involved in a heated argument with Perez Hilton outside a club in Toronto, Canada on Sunday night, June 21, after attending an after-party for 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards which was held at the particular venue. The war of words then escalated, leading Perez to get punched by someone on his face. After that, he was overheard calling will.i.am "you're not a f**king artist ... you're a f**king f*ggot," as claimed by TMZ which obtained an exclusive video of the confrontation.

And though the gossip blogger's attacker couldn't be identified because there were many people at the scene, the attack then led to Polo's arrest by local police on a single count of assault. He is ordered to appear in court on August 5. Post the confrontation, Perez quickly tweeted, "I was assaulted by will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke." He also claimed Polo hit him in the head for two or three times.

will.i.am was quick to fire back, posting a video on his Dipdive site, saying "OK, so I'm on my way to sleep, and I get a text from a friend, and it says she reads on Twitter that I assaulted Perez Hilton. For those who were following my Dip [postings], I told you what happened. This dude twists it and says I assaulted him, when I was the one who came to him with respect, and he was the one who called me a f****t outside of the club. Whatever. I hit you, Perez? Come on, dude, I didn't hit you. I told you that I didn't like the fact that you disrespected us."

The hip-hop artist continued, "Dude, apparently you were bleeding outside the club. I was, like, next to you by a tree. I was waiting for my car. And instead of calling the police, you [Tweeted] that I assaulted you. Sounds like somebody wants mad attention and is not really concerned with his health. I didn't hit you. And this is very wrong that you are [Tweeting] that I did that, once again disrespecting me and everything that I stand for. And they're lies. And that's wrong. Shame on you. Shame on your behavior."

As of press time, details regarding the cause of the altercation remain sketchy. The Toronto Police Service's Public Information Unit as well as a spokesperson for the Black Eyed Peas' label, Interscope Records, haven't responded to the incident just yet.
