'The health of the celeb participants are of the utmost importance,' ITV which is producing the reality show tackles the claim that Heidi Montag was not given food or water for 3 days.

AceShowbiz - The latest antic from Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt re-surfaced over the weekend when she was admitted to a Costa Rican hospital. The couple, as claimed by Spencer's sister Stephanie Pratt, was kept in a dark room for 3 days with no food or water while participating on "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!". However, ITV has since denied such treatment.

"ITV Studios, producers of the series, state that press reports at this time are untrue," the statement released via OK! is read. "ITV has been producing this format around the world for many years and the health of the celeb participants are of the utmost importance. A medic and a doctor are present at the location at all times for all participants. All allegations of the celebrities being deprived of food and water are completely untrue."

Heidi and Spencer first created trouble for the producers of "I'm a Celebrity" when they quit twice after only two days filming. They made their way into the competition again by pleading to the network and their fellow contestants who were given a say on the decision. As a punishment for leaving earlier, they were isolated on "Lost Chamber" while others continued living outside.

On Saturday, June 6, Stephanie wrote on her Twitter about the appalling condition that Heidi was put under. She furthermore told E! Online, "She was throwing up 30 times with nothing in her stomach. She was really sick. She thought she was dying... I know they pulled such shitty antics. But being treated like criminals or terrorists? It's insane!"

However, per TMZ, it is informed that Heidi has been transferred to another health facility and that she is diagnosed with a "gastric ulcer". Moreover, insiders of the show said that the couple was in the chamber for only 14 hours. "They slept most of the time," said the insider. "And when they weren't sleeping, they were laying side by side praying."

The new episode of "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" airs Monday, June 8.
