The Academy Award-nominated actor for his role in 'Revolutionary Road' is in negotiations for one of the lead roles in the biopic movie starring 'Twilight' actress Kristen Stewart.

AceShowbiz - Michael Shannon could be joining forces with "Twilight" beauty Kristen Stewart in "The Runaways". The actor who earned his first Academy Award nomination for his role in "Revolutionary Road" reportedly is in talks for one of the lead roles in the biopic movie project.

Specific details of his potential character are yet to be disclosed. Furthermore, The Hollywood Reporter noted that scheduling will play an important part for the joining of Shannon since he is still mulling several other offers. If he indeed signs in, the actor who has been tapped to star in "Jonah Hex" is likely to share screen with Stewart as well as Dakota Fanning.

"The Runaways" itself centers its story around a '70s girl band of the same name formed by Joan Jett and Cherie Curry. The movie will follow the teenage band as they experience meteoric rise, and chronicle their dissolution and disillusionment. Jett herself will serve as the film's executive producer and Floria Sigismondi will direct in addition to penning the script. Kristen Stewart is set to portray Jett, while Dakota Fanning is on board to play Curry.
