Venom Could Return to 'Spider-Man 4'
Movie

Todd McFarlane, the co-creator of alien symbiote Venom, talks about possibility of the Spider-Man villain appearing in the fourth installment of the 'Spider-Man' series.

AceShowbiz - Venom has been destroyed in the end of "Spider-Man 3", but words are, this alien symbiote villain could be making a return in "Spider-Man 4". In an interview with MTV News, the villain's co-creator Todd McFarlane expresses his belief that the character may come to the big screen once more with the fourth installment of the superhero series.

"I co-created Venom," the 48-year-old gushed on the possibility. "He was in the last 'Spider-Man' movie. And I think he might make an appearance here in the next one, too." Nonetheless, McFarlane didn't break down on his positive insight over the potential return of Venom, who is portrayed by Topher Grace in the last installment.

Talking more about the character, McFarlane explained on how he would present Venom in "Spider-Man 3" if he were in-charge. "I would've done a few things different," he said. "When I first created him, I made him huge. That would've been the first thing for me; I would've wanted somebody who looked like he was three times the size of Spider-Man, so it was almost like Spider-Man going against the Hulk."

"[I want] someone who is really formidable; whenever you have a skinny character against a big one it's like 'Woah, I'm going to have to work today.' But instead, the two of them were about the same size," he added. "I would've done something more dramatic. [I also would've increased] the nastiness; I never cared too much about the comics code. I always pushed the envelope until the editor said 'You'd better pull that back.'"

The fourth installment of "Spider-Man" series, "Spider-Man 4" has been reported to be shot back-to-back with "Spider-Man 5". It teams up once again director Sam Raimi and lead actor Tobey Maguire. Produced by Avi Arad, Grant Curtis and Laura Ziskin, the script will be provided by David Lindsay-Abaire. This movie will be opened in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2011.
