'Iron Man 2' Is Both Risky and Artistic
Movie

Giving an update to the in-production sequel of 'Iron Man', Robert Downey Jr. talked about the improvement made for the Iron Man suit as well as the story.

AceShowbiz - Robert Downey Jr. has once again come up with bits of details from the "Iron Man 2", suggesting that the movie will be both "risky and artistic". In a round table interview during the international press day for "The Soloist", the actor told Collider that everything from the first movie has been improved.

Speaking about the redesigning of the Iron Man armor, the Kirk Lazarus of "Tropic Thunder" stated, "Everything has been improved. Everything is ergonomic and the story is incredibly risky and artistic for a big genre movie." He then explained on his "risky" comment, saying "The set pieces have to do with things that aren't your typical like bad guy conflict."

"The relationships are very complex and hilarious. The motivations Tony has and why he turns around and does things has completely to do with his own internal processes and it really is, I think, as much as we tried to in the first one really see behind the facade of this kind of storytelling. We really, I think, leaving ourselves open to...we're kind of trying to tell a story about how a dysfunctional family saves life on Earth as we know it."

"Iron Man 2" has started its principal photography Monday, April 6 with director Jon Favreau serving behind the lens. Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Gwyneth Paltrow returns to play Pepper Potts. The two will be joined by Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson and Mickey Rourke. The film itself is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 7, 2010.
