Farrah Fawcett's cancer specialist Dr. Lawrence Piro confirms that contrary to mounting reports, all is well with the actress and she is expected to be discharged from hospital sometime this week.

AceShowbiz - In the wake of mounting Internet reports that Farrah Fawcett is in critical condition after being hospitalized last week due to her anal cancer, her doctor Lawrence Piro gives updated details concerning her latest health condition. To the Associated Press, Lawrence confirms that the actress' hospital stay is not the result of her cancer but rather complications she suffered as a result of the alternative cancer treatments she had in Germany back in 2007.
Lawrence, furthermore, explains that after the procedure Farrah could have stayed in Germany to recuperate for a day or two, yet she was anxious to come home and so immediately flew back to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, "it turned out that the procedure caused a small amount of bleeding in one of the muscles of her abdomen, making a hematoma, which was quite painful."
The blood clot was the main reason Farrah was photographed in a wheelchair last week. "Actually, it was painful for her to walk, which is why she was in that wheelchair. And that pain, which was coming from the hematoma, had nothing directly to do with the cancer," Lawrence, who is a Los Angeles cancer specialist, clarifies.
Lawrence then concludes, Farrah "remains in good spirits with her usual sense of humor. She's been in great shape her whole life and has an incredible resolve and an incredible resilience." Asked to comment on the on-going reports that Farrah's anal cancer has spread into her liver, Lawrence declines to give clue, reasoning "That's not something that I'm talking about today to preserve her privacy. I'm just talking about the current situation."
In related news, Farrah's producer friend Craig Nevius also claims that all is well with the movie beauty, stating "Although it is usually against her nature to correct false or exaggerated stories that originate in tabloid-style reports, Farrah is allowing this statement out of appreciation for her fans, who have offered their constant support throughout her fight, as well as out of concern for the countless other cancer patients who have written her over the last two and a half years in order to tell her that they are following her story in the hope that there is hope."
"Tonight, Farrah has hope, and she hopes that others will continue to hold onto theirs," Craig continues, adding that Farrah is expected to be discharged from the hospital in a few days.
