Insisting that he is 'starting from the bottom,' DMC shares his wish to be Lil Wayne's opening act once Weezy goes on tour to support 'REBIRTH'.

AceShowbiz - DMC of Run DMC speaks up his desire to open for Lil Wayne. "When he drops that album [REBIRTH] and goes on tour, I would love to open for him," the rapper tells MTV during an interview.

"I would open for Lil Wayne," DMC emphasizes the matter. "I'm only DMC, I'm not Run DMC. It'd be a privilege. I take joy in the creation of new music - I did what I did with Run DMC, but now I'm starting from the bottom."

DMC eyes to drop his second solo studio album "The Origins of Block Music" in June. DJ Premier and Public Enemy's Chuck D will contribute to the upcoming record. Besides, he and his Hip-Hop group will be inducted into 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Eminem during a ceremony to be held at Public Auditorium in Cleveland on April 4.

As for Lil Wayne, he will release "REBIRTH", rock-influenced album which Birdman says as not entirely rock, on June 16. Commenting on his experiment from rap to rock, Weezy himself notes that rapping has "became such a regularity" and he "got tired of it."

"I always knew I couldn't sing," Weezy adds. "But I also knew I had a voice that isn't heard by many and that I could learn how to stretch it and make songs sound good. Therefore, I practiced that."
