Celebrity couple, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel, is expecting their first child. A representative for them exclusively confirms the news to US Weekly, saying the baby is due to be born later this year, but not mentioning the exact date.
Taye Diggs, 38, and Idina Menzel, 37, have been married since January 2003. The pair's first meeting was on the original 1996 Broadway production of "Rent" in New York City. They've been dating for seven years when they got married.
Earlier this year, Idina told US Weekly that she would consider starting a family with Taye once she finished promoting her third solo album "I Stand". At that time she said, "It's definitely in the plans. I'll settle down and start popping out some babies."
As for Taye, according to Idina the actor has been ready to have kids since the day she first met him. "He wouldn't talk about marriage, but he'd talk about me having his children," the actress-singer told US Weekly. "He's always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he's very comfortable around children."
