'I think we both want to write songs together. She writes pop songs and I think I'm a pop songwriter,' Nikki Sixx says of the possibility to write songs with Carrie Underwood.

AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood may team up with Nikki Sixx, the bassist of hard rock band Motley Crue, behind songwriting table and pen a few new songs with him in the future. The speculation comes in the wake of Nikki's statement claiming that despite their different musical backgrounds, he would love to work with her.

"I think we both want to write songs together," Nikki opens up to MTV. "She writes pop songs and I think I'm a pop songwriter, however the songs are performed."

Carrie has recorded a cover version of Motley Crue's 1985 song "Home Sweet Home" to provide a farewell theme song for "American Idol" contestant who will be sent home during its result show. In working on the cover version, she was almost joined by by Nikki Sixx but ended up going solo.

In another news related to Carrie Underwood, the country music singer will make a duet with Randy Travis. They are scheduled to make a collaboration, singing his 1988 self-written song called "I Told You So" during the result show of "American Idol" Grand Ole Opry week on Wednesday, March 18.
