Anton Yelchin's Casting Rumor for 'Green Lantern' Nixed
Movie

Anton Yelchin, the 'Terminator Salvation' actor who was recently being linked to the titular role in 'Green Lantern', has denied the speculation, stating he has no clue about it.

AceShowbiz - The floating rumor that Anton Yelchin is in talks to star in "Green Lantern" has been proven to be false. While attending the "Terminator Salvation" panel at the WonderCon 2009, the actor who plays young Kyle Reese in the latest "Terminator" movie dished out that while he thinks portraying Hal Jordan would be great, he has no idea about it.

"I had no idea about that...I have no clue," he first responded to the question about his possible involvement in the superhero movie. He then continued, sharing the reasons, "I think I'm probably too young. I mean, no one has approached me. No one has said anything to me. I imagine I'm just too young. I mean, it's a great character but i don't know anything about it...I haven't heard anything about it."

A couple of days prior to Yelchin's comment, Latino Review broke out that Anton Yelchin is on the run to play Hal Jordan. His name got caught up in the titular role after Ryan Gosling and Emile Hirsch reportedly passed on the role and Sam Worthington was unavailable due to his role in "Clash of the Titans".

Set to be released in the U.S. on December 17, 2010, "Green Lantern" will tell the story of Hal Jordan, an ordinary test pilot who is suddenly given the task by dying alien named Abin Sur to protect the space using a green energy-powered ring. "Casino Royale" director Martin Campbell has been reported to be in negotiation for the directing part.
