'Arrested Development' creator Mitch Hurwitz promises that 'Arrested Development' film will be developed, while the series star Will Arnett insists that they are close to confirm the rumors.

AceShowbiz - The status on "Arrested Development" the movie has been given an update by creator Mitch Hurwitz and one of the original TV series' actors Will Arnett. While Arnett said that they are "dangerously close to confirming that we have read the rumors on the internet", Hurwitz explained that they are still dealing with some problems, but insisted the movie will be made.

"We've had some trouble. Unlike animation, where you can get the Family Guy cast back together, it's been a little challenging scheduling everyone," the series creator confessed at the WonderCon panel for FOX's new animated series, "Sit Down, Shut Up", on Friday, February 27. "We're going to make a movie. I haven't written it yet. So I'll be accepting pitches." He then gave further assurance, saying, "We're determined to do this."

"It was a great joy to do a show that took risks, with such a wonderful cast and writers. For us, it's irresistible. When we did the show, one of the things I think that made it work was we didn't hold ourselves up to any standard," he continued, adding on the big challenge he has to face for the movie version. "Now suddenly there is a bar to hit."

Following the story of a formerly wealthy, habitually dysfunctional family, the television version of "Arrested Development" revolves around the members of the Bluth family with the center attention on relatively honorable Michael Bluth. While he strives to do the right thing and keep his family together, his family delves in materialism, selfishness, and their manipulative natures.

The series which has received six Emmy Awards stars Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor and Jessica Walter among others. It was broadcast on FOX and executively produced by Ron Howard.
