Securing four golden man statuettes already at the 81st Academy Awards, the Danny Boyle's drama 'Slumdog Millionaire' takes home three more awards, Best Director, Best Score and Best Song.

AceShowbiz - "Slumdog Millionaire" has proven itself to be a strong contender at the 81st Academy Awards as the drama movie collected so far seven kudos. The Academy Awards has given "Slumdog" its seventh win when British filmmaker Danny Boyle was announced as the recipient of Best Achievement in Directing.
Handing out the statuette was actress Reese Witherspoon who joked before opening the envelope that a director is like a CEO in a film and sometimes can be like a "hostage negotiator". Having collected four kudos earlier, the Dev Patel and Freida Pinto-starrer film has also added Best Score and Best Song to their Oscar collections.
Announced by "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" star Zac Efron and R 'n' B singer Alicia Keys, the original score was awarded to composer A.R. Rahman. Moreover, "Jai Ho", the song which music is provided by Rahman and lyrics by Gulzar, has been hailed the Best Song and beat out competitions, "O Saya" from the same movie and "Down to Earth" from "Wall-E".
On the category of Best Foreign Language Film of the Year, "Okuribito (Departures)" surprisingly beat out critics' favorite "Waltz with Bashir". The Japanese movie also best over "The Baader Meinhof Complex" from Germany, "The Class" from France and "Revanche" from Austria.
