"First of all, how good-looking is my wife?" Barack Obama says of his wife Michelle Obama during their attendance at the Neighborhood Ball at Washington's Convention Center.

AceShowbiz - The United States of America's 44th president Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama danced together to Etta James' "At Last", which was performed by Beyonce Knowles, at the Neighborhood Ball at Washington's Convention Center on Tuesday, January 20. "First of all, how good-looking is my wife?" Barack spoke his praise for wife Michelle, who was wearing a white chiffon one-shoulder gown to the event.

Meanwhile, Michelle's fashion choice for the festivity has become a topic of discussion all over the media. Her gown, which per tradition will be donated to the Smithsonian, was designed by Taiwan-born designer Jason Wu. It had a strap across her right shoulder, a ruched bodice, fluffy appliques and sparkly beading.

The Dallas Morning News cited Carl Sferrazza Anthony, a historian who's written about first ladies, as explaining, Michelle's fashion choice is "a balancing act between being a queen and a commoner." Carl added, "The inaugural gown is a metaphor for the first lady role. They reflect around the world an image of our country."

As for Barack, he wore a custom tuxedo made by Chicago-based designer Hart Schaffner Marx.

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama were dropping in on 10 official balls Tuesday night. Earlier that day, Barack was sworn in as the new president of the United States. Michelle and daughters, Malia and Sasha, were in attendance, witnessing the moment.
