Announced on January 20 at London's Roundhouse, Coldplay and Duffy lead the nominations list of this year's BRIT Awards, grabbing four counts each.

AceShowbiz - Nominations for this year's BRIT Awards have been revealed on January 20 at London's Roundhouse. Coldplay and Duffy are among those nominated in multiple categories, leading with four kudos each.
While Coldplay face off Elbow, Girls Aloud, Radiohead and Take That for Best British Group title, Duffy enters a battle with Adele, Beth Rowley, Estelle and M.I.A. in Best British Female Solo Artist. Beside listed in separate categories, the two also compete against each other in MasterCard British Album and the long list of Best British Single.
In Best Intenational Male Solo Artist, Jay-Z is having a stiff competition with Beck, Neil Diamond, Kanye West and Seasick Steve. His wife Beyonce Knowles, meanwhile, is up against Gabriella Cilmi, Katy Perry, Pink and Santogold for Best International Female Solo Artist title.
Honoring Pet Shop Boys with Outstanding Contribution to Music and Florence and The Machine with Critics' Choice, 2009 BRIT Awards will be held on February 18 at London's Earls Court. Kylie Minogue as well as "Gavin & Stacey" stars James Corden and Mathew Horne will serve as presenters, while Kings of Leon, Duffy, Girls Aloud, Take That and Coldplay will make live appearances at the event.
