Plotting to release his second studio album in May, Elliott Yamin taps Jermaine Dupri, duo Stargate and Josh Abraham to produce new tracks in the yet-to-be titled effort.

AceShowbiz - Elliott Yamin, season 5 "American Idol" finalist, is currently working on his sophomore studio album and plans to release it on May 5 via Sony/ATV Music Publishing's Hickory Records. A new single meanwhile is expected to arrive in February.

Elliott will contribute in the songwriting desk for new materials in the album. He is also going to team up with producers Jermaine Dupri, duo Stargate and Josh Abraham among others in getting the effort ready.

Two years in the making, the as-yet-untitled record is aimed to follow up Elliott's 2007 debut album "Elliott Yamin" which was met with both sales and airplay success. Becoming the highest independent debut by a new artist in the history of the Billboard chart, his self-titled album hit #1 on Independent Albums chart, #2 on R&B chart and #3 on Top 200 chart, in addition to going gold in the U.S. and Japan.

"It's been an awesome journey full of creativity, and having the time to be flexible has really helped me branch out on this record," Elliott explained about his next installment. "I can't wait to share my music with my fans."
