Having a number of film projects in the pipeline following the success of "Twilight", Robert Pattinson is named one of MTV's Male Pop MVPs in 2009.

AceShowbiz - Catapulted to international stardom for playing the role of Edward Cullen in hit vampire drama flick "Twilight", Robert Pattinson takes the top spot on MTV's list of Male Pop MVPs in 2009. The list, which has several Hollywood popular names that the network expects big things from for this year, also includes the likes of Zac Efron and Chris Brown among others.
"After making millions of girls want to have a vampire love affair in 'Twilight,' English heartthrob Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Edward Cullen in this year's 'New Moon'", MTV writes about Pattinson. "But he also hopes to wow audiences as the young surrealist painter Salvador Dali in the film 'Little Ashes,' which chronicles the early life of the brilliant artist and explores his romantic relationship with poet Federico Garcia Lorca, played by Javier Beltran."
Following Pattinson close behind at the 2nd spot is Brown. He is praised by MTV to have "solidified his reputation as an R&B star, but in 2009 the singer and dancer will focus his efforts on his acting career." Efron, who is at No. 3, is credited for playing the role of Mike O' Donnell in "17 Again" as well as for securing parts in other films, like "Me and Orson Welles" and "Footloose".
MTV's list of Male Pop MVPs in 2009, additionally, also sees Jonas Brothers taking over the 4th spot. Their TV show "J.O.N.A.S!", inclusion as one of the nominees of "Best New Artist" at the upcoming 51st Annual Grammy Awards, and 3-D concert movie, are among the other things that make them named as one of the MVPs.
Actor Shia LaBeouf finishes the list at No. 5. "Last year, LaBeouf starred alongside Harrison Ford in 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,' and this year he'll be reprising his role as Sam Witwicky in the 'Transformers' sequel 'Revenge of the Fallen.' On top of that, LaBeouf will star in the smaller film 'New York, I Love You,' the sequel to 'Paris, je t'aime'", so MTV writes about him.
