Graduating from 'The L Word', Alice will be a convict in its spin-off in relation to the murder of Jenny.

AceShowbiz - The death of Jenny in the sixth season of "The L Word" will not only serve as one of the story lines of the series but it will most likely also be the beginning for the spin-off's. In a press conference for the show, Showtime president Robert Greenblatt revealed that Alice who will go center stage in the spin-off, will be heading to prison.

The best guess is, Alice got convicted related to the murder of Jenny. But Leisha Hailey who portrays Alice, believes that she is actually innocent in the case. "That's where I stand. I was a wide-eyed, scared victim. I was walking through this brand new world that obviously I was going to be staying in for a very long time. It's going to be a lot about how I fit in," she said.

Creator Ilene Chaiken was also present to give her insight regarding the new pilot, commenting on Alice's guilt as something that "could be an open question for a long time" should it get a full series pick up. The spin-off started in motion over Christmas 2008 for a premiere later this year.

Stars appearing on the pilot includes among others, Famke Janssen ("Nip/Tuck"), Laurie Metcalf ("Roseanne") and Melissa Leo ("Frozen River") which are expected to continue as the series' regulars should the spin off gets the thumbs up.

"Melissa Leo is not playing the character (Winnie) that she played many, many years ago on 'The L Word,'" Chaiken explained. "I believe that we can get away with that given the actor that Melissa Leo is. She's a completely different person." Famke meanwhile, plays Valentina who is in for "racketeering, drugs and assault - gang-related."

"The L Word" which consists of 8 final episodes will premiere on Sunday, January 18.
