U2 are confirmed to make a live appearance at this year's BRIT Awards, delivering their new track 'Get On Your Boots' off upcoming LP 'No Line on the Horizon'.

AceShowbiz - U2 are announced to play their new song titled "Get On Your Boots", which is taken from their upcoming twelfth studio album "No Line on the Horizon", at this year's BRIT Awards to be aired on ITV1. They will be performing the track on Wednesday, February 18 at London's Earls Court.

On U2's upcoming performance, Ged Doherty, Chairman of The BRITs Committee, reveals his excitement. "We're thrilled to be able to confirm that U2 have chosen The BRITs for their first global TV performance on their new album. Their addition to the line-up for this year's show makes it possibly the best we have ever had. This cements The BRITs as one of the biggest TV events in the world," so he claims.

In addition to U2's performance news, Pet Shop Boys have been confirmed as one of the awards recipients at 2009 BRIT Awards. The electronic dance music duo will be honored with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award, which U2 have received in 2001. BRIT Awards' nominees meanwhile will be unveiled on January 20 at London's Roundhouse.

Aside from the news from BRIT Awards, U2's "No Line on the Horizon" is expected to arrive in stores on February 27 in the Republic of Ireland, March 2 in the rest of Europe, and a day later in U.S. The album is aimed to follow up their 2004 LP "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb".
