Getting Thumbs Up, 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' to Start Filming in Spring
Movie

Producer Andrew Form lets out the confirmation of the go-ahead light for 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' remake, hinting further on the start of shooting date.

AceShowbiz - "A Nightmare on Elm Street" will indeed be getting a remake after all. In an interview with Shock Till You Drop, producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form confirmed that the deal to reboot the horror classic franchise has been set in stone. "It's our next movie," Form broke the news, adding further on the potential filming schedule, "hopefully shooting this spring."

On their plan for the remake, Fuller fessed up that they are looking forward to make it like "Friday the 13th", the remake of Sean S. Cunningham's 1980 horror classic. "It's like what we're doing to 'Friday the 13th,'" he explained. "It's not Freddy cracking jokes. We want to make a horrifying movie."

He then added, "The concept is so scary, don't fall asleep or you'll die. This guy gets you when you're most vulnerable, in your sleep. We love that. That's the basis of the movie. It'll be most similar to the first one but in terms of kills and dreams we'll borrow from the entire series."

"Nightmare on Elm Street" is a reboot of Wes Craven's 1984 horror classic. Written by Wesley Strick, the movie is said to be shot in the Chicago suburbs. Though the original depicter of Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund won't take the lead role in it, the producers plan to give him a cameo part. None has been cast yet for the new Krueger, but words are, Billy Bob Thornton has been considered for the part.
