Reaching the age of consent to drive, Miley Cyrus gets a hand-me-down Porsche which previously belonged to her mother.

AceShowbiz - Turning 16 years old and obtaining the legal permit to drive, Miley Cyrus told Extra that instead of getting her dream car, she drives an old Porsche. "I didn't get the one I wanted, but I got the old car, which wasn't so bad because it was Porsche ... it was a pretty good hand me down," so she said Thursday, December 11, adding the vehicle previously belonged to her mother Leticia "Tish" Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus turned 16 years old on November 23. She held an early birthday bash at California's Disneyland on October 5. Asked by Tyra Banks during the party about her dream car, the Disney star stated, "I want it [Mercedes] black and then just the little Mercedes signs to be pink ... and I would like the stitching and steering wheel to be pink."

Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, previously told Ryan Seacrest during a phone-in for his morning show on KIIS FM, he knew nothing about Miley's dream car. Though so, the country singer and actor continued saying he "probably" won't approve it, reasoning "I just want her to have something that she is real safe in. I want something with a little extra metal in the doors, you know, and I just want to make sure that she wears her seat belt."

Personal life aside, Miley has earned a Grammy nomination for the category of Best Original Song - Motion Picture for single "I Thought I Lost You" of "Bolt." Of the recognition, she commented, "I got a text from four different people. I was like 'Holy Moly!' It's good because people will take me a little more seriously."

She continued telling Extra that she will be having two dates to the upcoming 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards which will take place at The Beverly Hilton on Sunday, January 11, 2009. "I'm going to have one, which is going to be John Travolta. That's a big date," she said. "Two is Jeffrey Steele, because we wrote [the nominated song] together."
