A 'Heroes' casting report got out through EW, revealing that Sylar will find out who his father is and find a sense of purpose that contributes to a major plot to the series.

AceShowbiz - Some heroes and villains fall out on NBC's "Heroes" and new ones are introduced. It has been reported by EW's Ausiello Files that the show has hired John Glover who played Lex Luthor's evil dad in "Smallville", to take the role as the father of villainous Sylar.

"When Sylar meets his father, he's going to see a path ahead of him that he doesn't want to take," a Heroes insider told Michel Ausiello. "He has a lot more in common with his father than he realized." This character will be brought up towards the end of the series' next volume, "Fugitives" which will hit the screen on February 2.

It was previously revealed in an episode that Sylar is the biological child of Angela Petrelli, the same woman who mothers Peter and Nathan.

Additionally, there's an update regarding the return of Bryan Fuller to the show. The producer slash writer initially tackled the show in its first season but left for "Pushing Daisies" and now that "Daisies" is going to be cut off, Fuller makes time to revisit his old job. Fuller will join the team for the 19th episode of this season.

Speaking of the new volume, Fuller said that the heroes will reset their lives to the normal ones. Peter being paramedic, Claire looking for colleges and others. "We need to get back into a character place, because that's where this story started: Very clean, superhero metaphors to everyday life. That's the path that we're taking. But it is a big ship so it's going to take a little while to turn it," he explained.
