Artist of the Week: Brandy
Music

To follow up 'Afrodisiac', Brandy will drop her forthcoming LP titled 'Human' in the U.S. market on December 9.

AceShowbiz - This year, Brandy will treat fans with a new album "Human". Working with longtime collaborator Rodney Jerkins, who also helped her making her sophomore LP "Never Say Never", she will release the effort on December 9 under Epic Records to follow up her 2004 record "Afrodisiac".

"Getting in touch with how I felt made me want to sing about it," Brandy commented on the forthcoming LP. "This entire album is about life and what we all experience - that we're not alone and sometimes need to be uplifted."

Meanwhile, on defining success for the record, she said, "When you're coming from the heart, it's always honest, it's always true, and I just want people to embrace it and feel that - to feel the same way I do when I hear it. That would be a success for me. Of course you want to be at Grammys and at the top of the charts. But the bigger hope for me is that whoever buys it is touched by it, the way I was when I was making it."

"Right Here (Departed)", lead single off the album has hit the stores since August. "A little bit different" from the sounds in her previous albums, it reached top spot on Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, as well as number 22 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Eager to share her musics with fans, she released "Long Distance", second single from the upcoming record in October. Revolving around the condition of long-distance relationship, the ballad song climbed to number 62 on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.
