Speaking of his elopement with Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt states he and the actress will "take care of the legal details when" they get home in the U.S.

AceShowbiz - While the elopement of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt has made its round all over the media, one interesting fact has been uncovered that their quickie wedding is not yet legal. The newlyweds, who secretly walked down the aisle in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, last Thursday, November 20, have neither obtained a marriage license nor taken part in a separate civil ceremony, which is required by Mexican law to make the union binding.

Addressing the issue, which has become talk of the town, Spencer explains to the Associated Press and US Weekly, "We had a beautiful ceremony here ... officiated by a minister and photographed by the hotel photographer. We've never been happier." He continues adding, "And, like other elopements that happen outside the country, we'll take care of the legal details when we get home."

Spencer, however, doesn't disclose on when exactly he will make his union to Heidi legal in the U.S. Meanwhile, it has been reported that MTV has shot the couple's secret wedding to be featured on one of the episodes of "The Hills" upcoming fifth season.

Per People, Liz Gateley, who's the executive producer of "The Hills," has stated, "MTV is currently filming Heidi and Spencer in Mexico, as we were expecting to capture them on vacation". Greater than that, the network will also continue taping their daily life as newlyweds. "Fans will be able to see the exclusive footage from the ceremony in an upcoming episode, and we will continue to follow the newlyweds' relationship as it plays out in real life," Liz adds.
