AceShowbiz - A series of production stills from "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian" has been uncovered. Courtesy of USA Today, the images reveal the sneak peek into the sequel's characters, from Ben Stiller's Larry Daley to Hank Azaria's villainous Kah Mun Rah, and from Bill Hader's General George Custer to Jonah Hill's Smithsonian guard cameo.

One of the photos also let out Amy Adams posing as Amelia Earhart who stands next to the full-scale replica of the Lockheed Vega plane which Earhart made her trans-Atlantic solo flight. Another pic displays Christopher Guest's Ivan the Terrible and Alain Chabat's Napoleon Bonaparte being engaged in a heated game of world-map Twister to share the continents in their plan to take over the world.

In addition to the photos, USA Today has also included remarks about the movie from director Shawn Levy and leading man Stiller. Though this sequel has yet to see the big screen any time soon in 2008, Levy has hinted on possibility of another installment for "Night at the Museum". "There are rumblings of another installment. We would love to take this premise (further)," he says, but quickly adds, "But even to say there's a likely third film is premature. We're not going to jinx things."

Bringing another "Night at the Museum" comedy fantasy to life, "Battle of the Smithsonian" is set in the Smithsonian Institution, which collections are ranging from Al Capone's rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy's ruby red slippers. Supported by many talented comedians, including Owen Wilson, Robin Williams, Steve Coogan and Ricky Gervais, this sequel is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 22, 2009.
