At this year's Country Music Association Awards, Carrie Underwood takes an honor as 'Female Vocalist of the Year' while Brad Paisley receives a prize for 'Male Vocalist of the Year'.

AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood claims her reign as "Female Vocalist of the Year" at November-12 ceremony of 2008 Country Music Association Awards. She beats down such big names as Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, and Taylor Swift.
Meanwhile, for "Male Vocalist of the Year", the award goes to Brad Paisley after competing with Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, George Strait, and Keith Urban. Although beaten down on "Male of the Year", Strait still grabs an award with his latest album "Troubadour" winning over Underwood's "Carnival Ride", Brooks & Dunn's "Cowboy Town", Jackson's "Good Times", and Chesney's "Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates".
Furthermore, Paisley takes home an honor for "Music Video of the Year", thanks to his "Waitin' on a Woman" music video which is directed by duo Jim Shea and Peter Tilden while Chesney receives a prize as "Entertainer of the Year". Next winners are Mac McAnally who is honored for "Musician of the Year" and duo Robert Plant and Krauss who win "Musical Event of the Year" for their "Gone Gone Gone" performance.
