The Academy Award-winning actress, Nicole Kidman, will act as the world's first post-op transsexual in a proposed feature project entitled 'The Danish Girl'.

AceShowbiz - Having portrayed a courtesan in "Moulin Rouge!" and renowned British author Virginia Woolf in "The Hours", Nicole Kidman will next be the world's first post-op transsexual in "The Danish Girl". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 41-year-old has been tapped to star as Danish artist Einar Wegener in the based on true story movie.

For the part, the wife of country singer Keith Urban will co-star fellow Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron as Theron has been picked up to play Greta Wegener, Einar's wife. Apart from starring in the movie, Kidman will also serve as the film's producer and will be working together with director Anand Tucker.

"Danish Girl" tells the story of Danish artists Einar and Greta Wegener as their marriage takes a surprising turn when Greta's innocent idea for her husband to adopt the female guise becomes a reality. In reality, Einer's metamorphosis and 1931 operation left the world stunned and threatened the pair's love. The movie is eyed for 2010 release.
