'D.L. Hughley Breaks the News' is the tentative title of the new comedy talk show which will set to air on October 25.

AceShowbiz - Comedian actor, D.L. Hughley, is going to have his own comedy talk show on CNN. With tentative title "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News", the pilot will premiere on October 25 and the show will air every Saturday at 10 P.M. and will replay 24 hours later.

Hughley's show is a kind of news oriented talk show about politics, entertainment, sports, and pop culture. Like Hughley said, his talk show is more like David Letterman's and Jay Leno's program rather than Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show".

The comedian said on a statement, "I'm a big fan of both [the Daily Show and The Colbert Report], but I've got a different skill set. I'm not going to parody a news show or a news anchor. My show will reflect my views on things just as their shows reflect their views."

He described how he got into his way to CNN, "My agent called to say, 'What do you think about CNN?' and I said I'm not a newscaster." But he convinced that he thought about it and had a view that hosting a comedy talk show on CNN would work.

It is a new experience for the news network like CNN to have a comedy talk show in their broadcast, but Jon Klein, CNN U.S. president stated that it is unusual but not unprecedented, "The audience that gets so much of its news from comedians these days clearly has no problem with that." Klein further explained that there is a strong reason which makes the network wants to broadcast its new genre of talk show, which is to keep young viewers engaged with the network.

For the upcoming project, Klein also added that he will let Hughley runs the show freely based on his own characteristic. "Anything goes," he said. "It's as if we're shutting off the lights at the end of the day and letting him run amok."
