Terry Rossio, 'Pirates' trilogy co-writer, dismissed most of the rumors around the fourth installment of the blockbuster franchise from Johnny Depp's extravagant pay to Tim Burton's directing part.

AceShowbiz - The recently surfacing rumors around "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" apparently hold no truth in them. Slamming down many of the speculations, Terry Rossio, the co-writer of "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy, posted a debunking message, writing on Wordplay Forums, "For the record, none of the recent Pirates 4 rumors have any truth, including the so-called record 50 million dollar payday for [Johnny] Depp."
He then went on to crush other speculations, namely the possibility of either Sacha Baron Cohen or Russell Brand co-starring Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow's brother, and of Tim Burton getting the director part. "Some pretty funny stuff, though. Sacha Cohen? Tim Burton? Studios are way too protective of their franchises for that sort of thing," the "Shrek" co-scribbler claimed.
Whether Rossio's claims over the rumor are true or not is yet to be proven. The mouse house have not come out with any denial or confirmation regarding the circulating rumor, and Cinema Blend has pointed out that there is no indication of Rossio's involvement in the fourth project. The publication has also reasoned that there is still a chance of Burton helming "Pirates 4" since he has recently signed deal with Disney on "Alice in Wonderland".
Though detailed information about "Pirates 4" has remained tightly under wraps, it is said that the new project will be focusing solely on Sparrow's character as it follows the eccentric pirate in his quest to find the Fountain of Youth. In the new adventure, he is forced to team up with Captain Barbossa in order to "defeat some supernatural terror". The new adventure will leave out Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.
