Confirming the making of the third sequel, producer Bill Borden rejected the idea of the story moving on to college, while Ashley Tisdale shares her uncertainty of coming back for the fourth film.

AceShowbiz - With "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" counting down to its theatrical premiere in about ten days, sequel talks of "High School Musical 4" have been brought up once again. On Sunday, October 12 in "Senior Year" press conference, producer Bill Borden stressed that the fourth installment of the highly successful "High School Musical" is to follow saying, "Yes, there will be a fourth movie."
Hollyscoop reported that Borden further explained, "We haven't actually really even talked about 4 that much together. But we've been working so hard on 3. As a producer, I haven't talked to Disney about 4. We have a ways to go." Though insisting that "HSM 4" will be made, he rejected the idea that it will follow one of the stars to the college. "Personally, I don't think it will be College Musical," so he claimed as quoted by E! Online.
Meanwhile, on the possibility of Sharpay Evan's return which is said to be heavily hinted in the plot of "Senior Year", the starlet portraying the snobby character, Ashley Tisdale, has fessed up on her future plans which do not involve Evans. "I don't know anything about that," she said. "It is flattering to have an open door for my character. But I am doing other projects as well and moving on."
Since Walt Disney announced that they are moving on with "HSM 4" project back in April, words are circulating around that most of the franchise's major cast, including Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Tisdale won't be returning for the fourth film. On Sunday, Zac once again stressed on the fact that "Senior Year" is the crew's last chance on working together stating, "When we were filming High School Musical, we took every opportunity to kind of revel in the scenes and dances, because we knew this was going to be the last time we were all going to be together in this capacity. So we were soaking it up."
"Senior Year" is the first of the "HSM" franchise to be brought to the big screen. It will take the East High high-schoolers, especially Troy and Gabriella, to their senior year and showcase the difficulties they experience as well as the choices they have to make when faced with their future. Starring also Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman, the Wildcats will be staging their last musical numbers revealing their fear, hopes and experiences on October 24.
