AceShowbiz - Katy Perry has been confirmed to make a hosting job at this year's MTV European Music Awards. Wanting to present a "much more informal and relaxed" show, the executive producer for the event Richard Godfrey considers Perry as a perfect figure for the show's host regarding her recent "definite musical twist."

"To follow in the footsteps of previous hosts Christina Aguilera, Tom Jones, P. Diddy, and Snoop Dogg at this prestigious event is an incredible honor," the 23-year-old singer shares her excitement concerning her upcoming duty. "Do they know what they are getting into? I just hope that I don't spill my cocktail!"

Aside from her booking as the event's host, Perry is nominated for "New Act" category, competing with Miley Cyrus, Duffy, Jonas Brothers, OneRepublic. On top of that, her hit single "I Kissed a Girl" has also been listed on "Most Addictive Track" nomination with Coldplay's "Viva La Vida", Duffy's "Mercy", Kid Rock's "All Summer Long", and Pink's latest single "So What".

Taking place at the Liverpool Echo Arena on November 6, the annual show includes musical performances from Beyonce Knowles, The Killers, and Kid Rock. Meanwhile, Solange Knowles, Sugababes, Tokio Hotel, and Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes will also hit the awards' stage as additional presenters.
