AceShowbiz - Turning 24 years old on Friday, October 3, Ashlee Simpson celebrated the day in style, holding a "white-trash" themed birthday party at her parents' home in Encino. Carrying a bun in the oven, however, didn't prevent the singer to dress stylishly, trading her maternity wear for "trailer-park chic" for the bash.
"It had a white-trash theme," People magazine cited a source who showed up at the party as saying. "Ashlee wore Daisy Dukes and platform flip-flops with a bathing suit and a fake tattoo around her belly."
Ashlee's father-manager Joe was in attendance, wearing "a cut-off muscle T-shirt and a mullet wig. It was funny," another guest revealed, adding her singer sister Jessica Simpson "was wearing a crazy leopard-print dress that showed off a lot of cleavage."
Unfortunately, Ashlee had to leave the party early due to exhaustion, missing the attendance of her A-list guests Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie, and Joel Madden, all of whom showed up to the costume party after attending Gwen Stefani's birthday earlier on the day.
People magazine, which has the details on Ashlee's white-trash themed birthday party on its news issue on newsstands Friday, October 10, reported the menu for the festivity included corn dogs, macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and French fries.
The following day, October 4, Ashlee was photographed getting an escort from husband Pete Wentz as they were heading for the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, California, reportedly to see the musical production "Wicked."
