'Daredevil' Reboot, a Possibility
Movie

The 20th Century Fox are giving serious thought on the rebooting of the blind superhero film.

AceShowbiz - The 2003 superhero movie starring Ben Affleck, "Daredevil, The Movie", is most likely to be made from scratch once again. In a recent interview with IESB, the 20th Century Fox co-chairman Tom Rothman revealed that the studio have put a serious consideration to the reboot possibility of the Marvel's blind superhero movie saying, "A Daredevil, to use your words, reboot, is something we are thinking very seriously about.".

Hinting that the consideration is enforced following "The Incredible Hulk" moderate success, the studio executive further explained, "I think that the thing the Hulk showed although, it did what it did, is that it is possible, that if you really do it right the audience will give you a second chance."

He also pointed out on other example noting on Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins". "And I think that you see that when they did 'Batman Begins,' the first Nolan movie," he said, "that you can have made some mistakes along the way or movies that the audience wasn't that crazy about and then given the proper amount of time and the right creative vision behind it, you can, to use your word, reboot."

About the tone the reboot going to take this time, Rothman confessed that he is yet to have any clue to it. "I don't know because what it really needs is, it needs a visionary at the level that Chris Nolan [director of 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight'] was," he elaborated. "It needs someone, it needs a director, honestly, who has a genuine vision. What we wouldn't do is just do it for the sake of doing it."

Starring also Colin Farrell, Jennifer Garner and Michael Clarke Duncan, "Daredevil" is directed and penned by Mark Steven Johnson. Opened in the theaters on February 14, 2003, the superhero film debuted first at the box office chart with $40.3 million. It then continued to collect as much as $102.5 million nationwide and $179.2 million worldwide.
