Disney Teen Queen Demi Lovato Opens Up About Being Bullied

Having experienced of being bullied during her school years, she said she wants to use her fame to help other girls who are in the same situation.

AceShowbiz - Becoming one of the Disney starlets, Demi Lovato shares her past experience of being bullied that led her to leave school a few years ago in favor of home-schooling. In an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Wednesday, October 1, she opened up about being bullied as a seventh grader that she then wants to help other young girls who are harassed by their peers.

Demi told Ellen DeGeneres, "I never really understood why it was at the moment until looking back" when making reference to the painful bullying she has experienced during her school years. "I had a different lifestyle than everyone else. Whether it was because of my hair color or what ever the reason was, I pinned it on myself."

Already a working artist, Demi has expressed her hope to use her fame to help other girls who are in the same situation, telling Ellen "I guess the way that I want to impact girls as a ... role model - It's not me not making mistakes because I'm going to make mistakes but one day I want to help with bullying. Because there are girls who can't just up and home school and focus on their career."

Hearing Demi's revelation, Ellen said bullying is "just so horrible. And somebody has to stop it. It goes on in schools for a lot of different reasons. That's really a shame."

Demi's Wednesday appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" was to promote her debut LP "Don't Forget" which was at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 200 this week. Besides sitting down for an interview, she also gave a live performance, singing her hit single "Get Back". Her interview and performance on the talk show can be watched in the video below.
