She admits to have eaten some pickles before the kissing scene to avoid getting passionate with Drew because he hates pickles.

AceShowbiz - Being billed to do an on-screen kiss with her co-star Drew Seeley in her latest flick "Another Cinderella Story," Selena Gomez shares to E! Online's Marc Malkin about her passion dousing secret during the shooting. Avoiding to get passionate during the scene, Selena told Marc that she ate some pickles before the take. "He hates pickles and I love pickles, so I'd eat some pickles," so she said. She, however, didn't talk about Drew's reaction.
It took about 10 takes to get the kiss right, but Selena was very professional about the scene, admitting "You know, for me, it was a job, and for him as well, too." She then jokingly added, "but I'm not complaining. He's not bad to look at" when referring to Drew.
Kissing on-screen, indeed, isn't something new for Selena who is still 16 years old. Her first on-screen smooch was on "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" when she was still 12 years old. "And then on my show [Wizards of Waverly Place], my character has kissed maybe four or five guys. So this wasn't my first," the Disney young actress stated.
"Another Cinderella Story" is a romantic comedy film. Selena and Drew are the main cast. In the film, she plays a girl who falls for a popular singer, Drew's character, who enrolled at their school, Beverly Hills High. The film was shot in Canada in January 2008 and will be released direct-to-DVD by Warner Premiere. With a target release date of September 16, 2008, Selena will be celebrating the movie on Sunday, September 14 with a screening at the Grove mall in L.A.
