Pearl Jam's bassist, Jeff Ament will present his musical work in the past 10 years on a solo debut album 'Tone'.

AceShowbiz - One of Pearl Jam's members, Jeff Ament has confirmed to embark with his solo musical career by releasing debut album entitled "Tone". The effort will be a representation for his 10-years work that has never been included on the band's albums.

Commenting on his project, the Pearl Jam's bassist says that it is still in the work for final touch. "It just got to a point where I had to clean off the shelf a little bit," he explains. "I broke this group of 35 songs into three groups and decided to finish one of them."

Furthermore, Jeff reveals that one of the songs, "Hi-Line" is based on a short story "Dry Rain". He says, "It takes place up in north central Montana, pretty close to where I grew up. I didn't end up finishing the song before they put the movie out, but I got two pretty cool songs out of it, inspired by growing up in north central Montana. It forced me to write from a different perspective."

To get his album done, Jeff is helped by Three Fish's drummer Richard Stuverud who plays some drum riffs on six tracks. Meanwhile, King's X frontman Doug Pinnick will lend his vocals by singing on "Doubting Thomasina".

The effort will be unveiled via the band's Ten Club fan organization on September 16. The confirmed track listing includes:

  • Just Like That
  • Give Me a Reason
  • Bulldozer Lapse
  • Say Goodbye
  • The Forest
  • Life of a Salesman
  • Doubting Thomasina
  • Hi-Line
  • The Only Cloud in the Sky
