Movie

Brad Pitt's co-star in 'Troy' is going to share screen with the Hollywood actor once again as she is touted to star in Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglorious Basterds'.

AceShowbiz - The Helen of Troy in the epic movie "Troy", Helen Kruger, has become the first female actor joining the varied cast ensemble of "Inglourious Basterds". For the World War II action drama, the 32-year-old has been tapped to tackle the prominent role of German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark.

Revealing the fact at the 2008 Venice International Film Festival, she gushed, "I just received a call from Quentin Tarantino, asking me to be in his next movie. I don't want to give too much away, but I'll play a German movie star." The role of Hammersmark has earlier been linked to other German actress Nastassja Kinski.

Beside Kruger, another actor recently signed for the project is German television actor Christoph Waltz. He will be filling the shoes of the primary villain, Colonel Hans Landa. His character was previously rumored to be given to Hollywood big name Leonardo DiCaprio, but later director Quentin Tarantino revealed that he opts to go with a real German actor for the role.

The casting of "Bastards" actors has so far been one of the interesting stories from this upcoming movie by Tarantino. The acclaimed director of "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill" has collected quite a mixed ensemble with the signing in of Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt, filmmaker Eli Roth, comedian Mike Myers and TV actors Michael Fassbender, B.J. Novak and Samm Levine.

Centering its story on a group of disgraced U.S. soldiers at the period of World War II, "Inglourious Basterds" will tell an intertwined story between the soldiers sent to blow up a Parisian theaters premiering a Nazi propaganda film and a French Jewish teenager whose family is brutally murdered by the Nazi. The Weinstein Company's film is scheduled to begin filming on October 13 in Germany for 2009 release.
