August 29, 2008, 7:45 am GMT

A movie chronicling the early life of the former The Beatles member is being developed and will be called 'Nowhere Boy'.

The story about the early years of the legendary member of The Beatles, John Lennon, is heading to the big screen. Entitled "Nowhere Boy", the movie will highlight the acclaimed singer/songwriter's troubled teenage as told by his half-sister, Julia Baird through her memoirs.

Retelling his deeply personal account, the movie will provide a deeper look into his relationship with his mother who abandoned him and his Aunt Mimi who raised him with a strict authority. It will also show how Lennon find his only escape in music and art as well as in his friendship with Paul McCartney.

Explaining the reason behind the choosing of the plot, director Sam Taylor-Wood said, "The women in John's early life truly shaped who he became and the strengths and weaknesses of their relationships are central to this film."

"Boy" is scripted by Matt Greenhalgh and will be filmed on location in the star's hometown of Liverpool. Ecosse Films are producing the project in association with the U.K. Film Council. Meanwhile, the major role casting is said to be underway.
