Portia said she and Ellen "go back and forth" with the thought of having kids and Ellen said she realized having kids is "a lot of work."

AceShowbiz - It was just last weekend that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi made their union official in a private nuptials, but the couple have talked about having kids already. Discussing on the option, they openly share their story and hope to People magazine in its latest issue, which features their wedding album and exclusive interview with them.

Considering to have children to form a family, Portia admitted that she and Ellen "go back and forth" with the thought. "I don't know if it's our immediate future. It's something we talk about every few months," she revealed further.

As for Ellen, she tend to perceive having kids as "something we would never take lightly and just say, 'That would be fun.' It's a lot of work and we recognize that." She explained further, "In a way, we want to be selfish because we love our life, but we know how much that adds to it." The talk show host even jokingly added, "If they would be as pretty as Brad and Angelina's kids, we might."

Not coming to the option of having kids right away, Ellen said that she and Portia would like to have "a big farm and to just take care of every kind of animal that needs taking care of" by the time they celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

Ellen proposed to Portia in the wake of the California Supreme Court's ruling allowing same-sex marriages in May. They held a private wedding at their Beverly Hills home Saturday, August 16 which was attended by only 20 guests.
